Day 1 London Heathrow/San Francisco
Arrive into San Francisco and upon arrival transfer to your hotel, enjoy an evening meal on Fisherman’s Wharf or just relax in your room after an exhausting day travelling
Days 2 & 3 – San Francisco
Spend the next two days exploring San Francisco and its many wonderful attractions including Fisherman’s Wharf, Union Square, Alcatraz and China Town. Don’t forget to ride the famous cable car, or walk down winding Lombard Street.
Days 4 & 5 – San Francisco/Yosemite National Park
Driving distance: 191 miles approximately 3¾ hours
Collect your rental car from the San Francisco down town location and drive east, destination Yosemite National Park. Yosemite has a setting of unsurpassed natural beauty. See the famous Yosemite Falls, the highest in America, and drive up to Glacier Point for a spectacular view of the mountains and valley.
Day 5 – Yosemite/Death Valley
Driving distance: 280 miles approximately 5½ hours
Leave this lush green Yosemite Park and drive on to Death Valley, a place of unexpected contrasts such as sand dune formations, sculpted rock and volcanic craters.
Days 7, 8 & 9 – Death Valley/Las Vegas
Driving distance: 125 miles approximately 2½ hours
A relatively short drive today brings you to ’the entertainment capital of the world’. Las Vegas has a near perfect year round climate and plenty to keep you entertained. We’ve allocated 3 nights in this ‘ must see ‘ destination to ensure you have enough time to see a couple of the spectacular shows, walk along the strip and view the superb themed hotels.
Day 10 – Las Vegas/Grand Canyon
Driving Distance: 230 miles approximately 5 hours
Leaving the glittering lights of Las Vegas behind drive east following the original Route 66, the road takes you over the Hoover Dam before continuing on to the breath-taking sights of the Grand Canyon, truly one of the most spectacular and awe inspiring sights in the world. Spend the afternoon hiking into the Canyon or perhaps take an aerial flight for a bird’s eye view.
Day 11 – Grand Canyon/Las Vegas
Driving Distance: 230 miles approximately 5 hours
Ensure you rise bright and early to experience sunrise over the Canyon a most amazing spectacle as the sunrise reveals the stunning colours of the rock formations. After a relaxing morning head west back to the bright lights of Las Vegas, overnight in Vegas for before heading onto Los Angeles, the movie capital of the World.
Days 12, 13 & 14 – Las Vegas/Los Angeles
Driving Distance: 270 miles approximately 4½ hours
Today your journey will take you through the middle of the Mojave Desert to Los Angeles. En-route you may want to visit Calico Ghost Town. Los Angeles is a huge city full of attractions, you may choose to head for one of Los Angeles many beaches and end the holiday relaxing or perhaps you’d prefer to stay in Hollywood on Hollywood Boulevard, the ideal location to visit Universal Studios, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive or perhaps Disneyland California is high on your list of attractions and so Anaheim would be your preferred location.
Day 15 Los Angeles/London Heathrow
Driving distance 19 miles approximately 45 minuets
Time for some last minute shopping, on Rodeo Drive, before your short journey to Los Angeles airport; make time to drop off your car before checking in for your flight back to the UK. Time to reflect on your amazing holiday sure in the knowledge that America will call you back some day
