Days 1  & 2 Washington

Start your Skyline & Blue Ridge Parkway trip by flying directly into Washington, the destination for the first 2 nights or 1 full day of your exciting adventure.  Two nights in Washington essentially affords you a day and a half in Washington to sightsee and sightseeing doesn't get more impressive that  The White House, pre book a trip to the Washington Monument for great view of the city or visit the old Post Office Pavillion where you can walk to the top of the tower of the old clock tower for free !  There are so many museums in Washington but I'd recommend  The Smithsonian Museum, again its free and you can wander for as long as you like. try to include a walk along the Potomac River and Georgetown for designer shopping, boutiques and fabulous restaurants.

What ever you do bring your camera.  The Luray Caverns have become the most popular in Eastern America. Guided tours lead visitors through cathedral-sized rooms with ceilings 10 stories high. Enormous chambers are filled with towering columns, shimmering draperies and crystal-clear pools.  We suggest  you stay at The Skyland Resort  but  If you have extra time you may want to consider extending your stay here.
