Full Itinerary - Niagara Falls to Boston & New York

 

Days 1 to 3 Niagara Falls

Start this scenic trip by flying directly into Toronto or Buffalo, collecting your hire car and driving the 90 minutes from Toronto or 30 minutes from Buffalo to Niagara Falls. If you would like a night or two in Toronto we'll extend the itinerary for you. To enjoy this stunning location to the full we suggest you stay for 3 nights allowing you sufficient time to take a jet boat tour of the falls and visit the quaint village of Niagara on the Lake. 

Days 4 to 6 Finger Lakes (160 miles)

On leaving Niagara take the I90 to Rochester following on down to Geneso and Letchworth state Park (The grand canyon of the east) before heading to Watkins Glen, a lovely village with stunning waterfalls, from here move onto the village of Ithica, in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, for the next 3 nights. You’ll find quaint villages, art galleries, restaurants and the option to hike through Watkins Glen Gorge and explore the 9000 square miles of the lakes region.

Day 7 Catskill Mountain, Tarrytown  & The Hudson River (200 miles)

On leaving Fingers Lakes continue east towards Boston through The Catskill Mountains, spend the day exploring and walking in this vast park before crossing the Hudson River breaking the journey by stopping overnight in this pretty area.

Days 8 to 10 Boston (200 miles) 

Boston is your destination for the next 3 nights; Boston is a dynamic and exciting city offering a wealth of activities to satisfy the interests of young and old alike; sightseeing, shopping, fine dining and exciting nightlife. If you want to explore a good starting point is the Freedom trail, a 3 mile historic walk that takes in all the main sights, alternatively board one of the sightseeing trolley’s, you can jump on and off as you wish if you see something that takes your interest. The family may enjoy a Duck Tour and the shopaholics a morning in Copley Square, a boat trip out into the harbour is always a popular attraction. 

Day 11 to 14 New York (3 hours by train or 200 miles)

Before leaving Boston return your hire car as its time to enjoy a relaxing, and picturesque, train journey down the east coast to New York’s Penn Station in central Manhattan, ending your holiday in the “Big Apple” the city that never sleeps.

New York is the perfect destination for a few days shopping and sightseeing, take a trip up the Empire State building, explore Central Park, take a boat trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, shop on 5th Avenue or take in a show at one of the World famous Broadway theatres – New York is one of the most exciting and cosmopolitan cities in the world and an ideal all year round destination.

Day 15 Fly home from New York to UK

Bring your America Holiday to conclusion with for some last minute sightseeing or relaxing before you head to New York airport for your return flight back to the UK.
